Story Time Prompts: A Romantically Horrific Third Wedding.
Stakes are high in this romance filled writing prompt.
Well… we’re back, and something crazy happened. You see, a few weeks ago, I posted a prompt with not one, but TWO polls. But that’s not the crazy part, it’s how the first poll turned out. In an absolute tie-up, we’ve ended up with two genres: Horror and Romance— all tied up to be wedded not at your own, but your friend’s third wedding.
Before we go any further, a word from our very own mascot, Dragon. (Yep, they still haven’t revealed his name to me yet):
In truth, I detest horror, but romance? That is the way to thine own heart, and it feeds me so fruitfully. So… my subjects, give me only the finest in your… horror romance wedding stories. Otherwise, this palace may be subject to a fine burning.
I don’t think he’ll do that, hopefully. I mean it is where she keeps their story horde— but try to appease them anyway… It saves me, and only benefits you.
Weddings are supposed to be a romantic event, one where two come together to become one. A moment that forever intertwines them. But for your friend? It’s his third wedding, and no one is taking it seriously.
Except you. You can’t help but notice the odd twinkling not just in your friend’s eyes, but his fiance’s, too. The couple seems off, like they’re both in a daze. Your stomach is starting to churn, and you’re pretty sure something bad is about happen. But what?
“Ahem,” Your friend grabs a mic. “Before we proceed, we—” He gestures towards his partner, “have an announcement to make.” Silence fills the area, and everyone’s waiting to hear what’s next. But instead of words filling the air, it’s a horrifying transformation.
The two partners’ bodies distort and twist, shifting and changing. Bones snap, body parts crunch, becoming no longer human. Instead, werewolves, and they’re out for the kill. Oh… so this is why the wedding was at midnight on a full-moon…. whoops.

1. The Reaper’s Apprentice by Maryellen Brady 💗📚.
In this incredibly wholesome take on last week’s prompt, Maryellen NAILS the dynamics of a fun dad and son adventure. It feels lo-fi even, with the Reaper having text conversations with clients leading up to their demise, and the son being… well very teenagey angst. Here’s an excerpt from this fantastic piece:
CHAD shuffled behind him, tripping over his robe. “These stupid things are so extra. Why can’t I just wear normal clothes? Hoodies are cool. I could be like... Dark Hoodie CHAD. Now, that’s a brand.”
“You’re wearing the traditional garb of—”
“Of old demons who are stuck in the past. Like you.”
It’s a short one, but I thought it was hillarious. Anyway, go read this story!
2. Cheated Rivarly by Alexa D. Beelzebub.
I nearly forgot about this one, but I LOVED the hilarity of it. It’s a short sequence where the main character, Luke, has to take on a new partner and show the fellow the ropes. But instead of things going as intended, Luke is annoyed by his new partner. Overall, it’s a great and absolute cinema of comedy, so here’s an excerpt:
Initially, Luke had been intimidated by Thanatos. In fact, he almost crapped his pants when they first met. Thanatos was death incarnate—literally. He stood at probably 7ft at least, and wore a long, black, gauzy robe that covered him entirely save for his skeletal hands. But that all went out the window once he began chattering away.
“Oh, what about Trisha Paytas? You know, people think her first child is Queen Elizabeth incarnated? Of course, I’m not gonna confirm or deny anything, but let’s just say—”
“My god, what did I do to deserve this?” Luke groaned, gently banging his head against the side of the bus stop enclosure.
The answer to that question? Go read the story to find out, haha!
Finally, we’ve reached today’s prompt poll! It was really crazy seeing how things turned around last time, so what kind of things will you choose for me? Your decision matters, so make it a good one!
And, what’s this?? Another one? Go for it!
